Beth E. Scudder is an internationally experienced, skilled manager, trainer, and writer. Adept with interpersonal communication and technology, she works well both individually and in a team setting, and seeks to find a venue to apply her skills to the cause of increasing international understanding.
Born to missionary parents, Beth spent the first 18 years of her life traveling around the world. Still unsure of how to answer the question, "Where are you from?", she returned to the United States in 1994 to attend Macalester College, where she received her BA in English and Communication Studies. After several years' experience in technical writing, technical editing, and publicity for a publishing house, Beth decided to change tracks to an international service career, and made her way to American University's School of International Service to pursue that. She received her MA in International Communication in December 2006.
Beth's major research interests in the field of International Communication revolve around the intersection of culture and technology, and the variety of opportunities and challenges that emerge through the conjunction of those two aspects of communication. She looks forward to using her technical skills and communication knowledge to serve a variety of organizations and firms.
Beth enjoys cooking international cuisine, traveling (often to see her globally-dispersed family), singing, yoga, dance, reading, sewing, and time with her loved ones.
